Welcome to the home of the Benson golfing swindle.

We play golf together, usually at The Millbrook but sometimes at other venues depending on how badly our home course is messing with our game.
Scroll down a bit to catch-up on the latest outing or mooch around (using the menu) to get stats, see the kitty balances and catch-up on past events.

Blow me down, we had two four-balls last time out. It's been a while since that happened. Thank-you to Sherry, Lecy and guest Sue, it was good to push more than a 4-ball onto the course for our little swindle.

As it turned out, a team spat was avoided because the Mark/Lecy/Warren/Sue 4-ball lost a guest player (Sue) after 9 holes. In the bar afterwards, none of us could be bothered to work out an alternative strike-off order and sit there furiously calculating the team score for the back-9. No matter, the prize giving was enough of a win even though the Ian/Sherry/Gordon/Rob 4-ball would have won it so thought the richest man in North Crawley 🙂 who had to do without an extra two quid to contribute to the overall winner's bar bill. Tee hee!

Only the best gear

We don’t have major sponsors like the Pros, so all our kit is acquired over years of golfing. Most of us have clubs in our bag from multiple brands; who doesn’t have a favourite wedge or rescue wood which begs not to be left in the garage when that nice new set of Pings arrives? And what about golf balls? Most of us don’t buy them: why waste money on new balls when there’s always a ProV1 or TP5 to be fished from the pond? Yes, when it comes to equipment, we’ve got it nailed!

Quality annual tours

Once or twice each year we like to go play golf far far away leaving our employers and families to fend for themselves for a change.

We’ve never been to St. Andrews though. That would be nice certainly but perhaps a little above our station. With an average handicap of about 17 in our swindle, such a venue would shred our self esteem not to mention our wallets.
